This is looking really cool. I love the job you did on the rigging. Hard surface/robotic rigging escapes me, and I would love to see a breakdown of how you did the shoulders.
sorry about the big gif file, I finally got around to doing some shoulder tests for rigging, the biggest problem will be the long tubes and how to avoid them clipping through objects.
it's just a simple system of ' Look at' animation constraints together with the hose object for the wires. the part that gets me annoyed is that it all gets broken if i parent one object that i forget to reset xforms on..this causes all kinds of warping and breaks the whole rig, leading me to have to redo the whole mess.
So I started this a few weeks ago when I had ALOT of free time at work due to waiting to get moved to another project. Done in max and rendered int he viewport with nitros (such an awesome real time renderer:poly122:) Might get around to finishing up the rest of him but for now he on the back burner. the arms, shoulders…
