Hi, I'm trying to achieve the same effect in a render as 'texture' display mode; that is, totally bright render as if there is no light information. I should be able to take the render and put it next to the texture and notice no difference in colour I have tried setting the render output to 'diffuse coefficient' and that…
Diffuse coefficient should do it, when you say you have the gamma on the 'texture' set to one, what do you mean? The gamma setting in the render window or something else? Also checked that tone mapping is 0% and white level is neutral? Don't have any other render outputs enabled? Maybe post a picture of what you're getting…
If you are rendering with output gamma at 1, then you should adjust your texture's gamma to .4546. Otherwise your texture will appear washed out. Perhaps that is the problem?
For the diffuse coefficient render output, set it's gamma to 1. Ensure your materials are set to 100% diffuse amount (defaults to 80%). That could be what's washing it out.
If the render output was at gamma 2.2 then yeah, but otherwise it should be fine with them both being 1. ('cause it'll do pow(textureInput, 1) then pow(renderResult, 1/1) which works out the same).
