i think part of what makes that brick wall look flat is that straight vertical edge on the corner. maybe break up that contour so it looks more like separate bricks.
ok, here another version of those bricks, this time focus on bump out those bricks, need more work on create more random on those, feel free to comment please.
The bricks that have a high contrast compare to the other ones (the black square brick for example) will stand out quite a lot once you tile your texture. I'd be careful about that!
you should make the bricks more interesting, and add in some smaller details so it's not just huge bricks and fine sand detail, will make the whole thing alot more appealing
Hi guys im doing a brick texture study here's the WIP no Albedos and just a base roughness i'll probably change the brick shapes and make some small ones in the middle
The brick texture is a bit repetitive, especially on the side of the first building. I think the main culprit is the one lighter (almost white) brick that stands out dramatically from its neighbors.
Most consumers are probably not super interested in how a game was made. Depending on your price point I think it would be possible as an indie developer to use supplemental AI and still generate some revenue if the core concept was "fun" enough that your average Joes would be fine dropping $X on it. That being said, I…
Maybe put some tilt on your bricks in the last texture? Just put some random normal colors over the bricks and put it to low opacity overlay.. Keep at it! Looks great so far! :)
Nothing wrong with the roughness, there are tons of different types of bricks, shiny once like this too. Maybe you can show your reference. Though it looks like the smooth surface is from the dirt and not on the brick.
I'm starting to find it dubious also, I am going to hold off on backing. I backed brick by brick though. I think I will pick up anatomy for sculptors instead of Masters of Anatomy.
