Hi, I was wondering what it takes to develop a mobile side-scrolling platformer like Manuganu 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqEwu2sc6XU Being a 3d/2d artist, I assume that lots of coding skills required for that kind of work, right? Where to start from? Are there any free/commercial game engines for example where I can…
so i want to make a non perfect line when baking my game asset. Do i have to create those imperfection manually then bake it into a game topo to get the non-straight line? or iis there a way to achieve this when baking/texturing?
Some actual useful features in this update, probably the best update they've done in years. The shortcut manager/chamfer modifier was the second best things since 2009. I'm assuming max users should be able to bake rounded corners now properly. Does this new bake tool support match by name _high/_low besides ID? I haven't…
Can you bake a mental ray shader to a texture? Basically I want to create a really fancy MR shader, then throw some ambient GI lighting in and bake out texture map from this to use as a diffuse pass on some low poly stuff... Anyone know of a tut, or how to do something like this? I'll take an answer in either maya or max...
Hey mate, this seems like a good project to study some baking. I am not sure if you are focused in the baking only or if you are also focused in making the gun as close to the reference as possible, so in that matter I would only point out these two things: Also, I am not sure if you baked the noise in the handle from the…
I keep running into an issue where whenever I try to bake an ID map from the Material Color, the result is just a solid red map. As a test, I ran a bake on this mesh (Made in 3DS Max, exported as FBX) : The result is a solid red map: I know this used to work correctly a few years ago, but now it just feels completely…
So my workflow is that i create lowpoly first then i create highpoly and then i start unwrapping lowpoly and after i have unwrapped it i load smoothing grps from uvw shells. then i do explode bake based on naming in substance. Substance after i baked normals : Material Mode in substance: Heres is my lowpoly : Highpoly:…
@Sen9Art replying here just in case someone else has advice. "Do you know what type of problems could be happening with the normals on my mesh's? Also I was not aware that the normals of the high poly were relevant when baking, any insight about that?" It's hard to say what is wrong with your normals or why, or even if…
I was recently watching a flipped normals and they said thats its better to just use someone elses concept art to make a 3D character from rather than make your own. So lets say I make a decent character based off their art and want to put it in my portfolio (artstation) what would be the best way to go about this? Do I…
So at work we make money doing this, I have found with the right tools we don't even have to bake the cards. i also found with baking i like to do short intervals like 5 minutes at under 375F, ifn eed bake it more i have revived 1 dead laptop and 2 gfx cards at home and at work we pretty much got 750 dollars worth of…
