I think I may have to to be honest. A tool for both seems like a good plan and would give me more practice with Mel script Thanks for sharing man with your Max friends man :)
Hi! I'm having a hard time trying to match scale of two objects ( not as simple as the example below, but the same idea). I can allign them properly, but their sizes never change. Is there any way to do it? A maxscript/mel, perhaps? Thanks!
Hey guys, On the project I am working on right now I found myself going back and forth to the Maya Grid Options quite a lot. After a while I found it really tedious and time consuming. At the same time I find the window size way too big (and it also shows too many options that you set once and then you forget about): so…
perna and r_fletch_r the parameters are not controllable by maxscript for now. Btw how can I expose the functions for use in maxscript? malcolm I haven't used maya or mel so I can't port it over.
i just made a mel script that does a batch export of my objects, and moves them to 0 0 0 before export and puts them back after. pretty simple thing to make.
Yeah I was going to say parent is really the only way to save the pivot point of the original mesh. Unless you wrote a .mel script that combines and then centers the pivot point at the centerpoint of the original mesh.
does anyone know how to from python or mel get the cameras facing as a vector, i need to get it as one instead of just xyz rotational values since i need to do a dot product of it and a other vector.
