This is true. Amy is my hardware engineer now and she started as a designer. she's now lv 5 everything but hacker, and her stats are INSANE now. I'm at the 15th year but she's almost 400 in one of her stats and 200-350 in all the rest. then again, she's also 4k to keep hired :X
I'll be honest, I'm well into my 15th year at this point and I've jumped around various job positions to keep it fresh. But that's a personal thing. I don't think I would have liked doing the same thing this entire time ... But I'm doing art now and I'm loving it!
And what HAVE you been reading? Almost sounds like you've been reading some pretty uninteresting stuff. Don't limit yourself to our current-generation literature. Don't be afraid to go way back to 18-19th century. There was some pretty damn good writing back then.
Going from a 4096 to a 1024, that's 1/16th the resolution. You're going to lose a ton of data. Remember, each lower MIP is 1/4 of the data. MSDN is the reference for DDS https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/direct3ddds/dx-graphics-dds-pguide There are example tools on GitHub here…
I love MMOGs that do the whole 'big singleplayer story' type thing. It seems like a complete waste of tacking on an MMO component in the first place (if you're going to make an MMO, surely you want to have gameplay and content that encompasses a multiplayer environment?). There's a reason why something like Eve is in it's…
thanks chrisradsby. some good info. you can't see it and I imagine it's pretty hard to imagine but there is a waterfall infront and behind you in this shot. Impossible to tell but the water is definitely coming from there as you suggested:) Will be starting rocks in a week as need to be done by 19th sept. the tree roots…
Hey, I had a similar problem with my 24HD in Photoshop. Windows 7 also. Everything worked fine for a while, but every 10th stroke or so was full pressure, no matter how light I pressed it. I could fix it with changing the "Tip Double Click Distance" in the Wacom Tablet Properties to "Off". Hope this helps.
you can just load an HDRI and it should work fine? marmoset seems to already use a blurred version of the image for diffuse ambiance (probably taking the 10th mipmap to do it or something similar). and you can create your own lights from the image inside marmoset if you want better control over the sun spot.
get a used wacom on ebay! I know there are offbrands that are just as good as wacom for 10th of the price but it would take some research to figure out which suck and which don't. You KNOW a wacom will be good. even if it is old. even if you get an intuos 2 from 10 years ago it'll still be good
I know it's way too late to say so, but I love the look of the face in your "I'm terrible at lighting" post on the 14th. I enjoy the slightly scared look, and in general the face-pose feels very naturalistic and believable. The new one feels a little uncanny from the front, to me, and I can't place why.
