I put up some more kitbash libraries recently to aid in my personal work and to sell. Check em out here... https://gumroad.com/mvhaitsma There is also a sample pack of various models there that can be downloaded for free.
I just want to confirm that I'm not screwing this up. When you have a mirrored UV layout, you don't need to make each mirror separate via smoothing or a hardedge? Results in XN would seem to confirm this since seam is slightly less noticeable when 1 group. Does this same logic apply to a UV island that's actually a…
I know that you have to create a uv seam on sharp edges so that the normal maps can be applied properly. I was wondering at what angle do these edges start to become a problem? Also, I sometimes use an automated unwrap (in Blender) based on an edge angle. This can result in uv maps with maybe a hundred small islands…
Thanks for the feedback guys! I will be getting rid of waht you mentioned as soon as possible. About the variety i want to include some more non-weapon stuff in there, i am thinking about a tank and maybe some props or a small hard surface envio using udk. Do you think i should shrink the amount of models i showed?
I am currently learning Substance Designer and decided to texture a mech asset I made a while ago. So far I'm super impressed with SD and wanted to share my progress. C&C welcomed along with any tips for Substance designer.
If you're doing heavy dynameshing then you should be on the lowest subdivision level, and if you're still in the process of creating polygroups/edgeloops/grouploops as well then its a requirement. When it comes creating hard surface models in zbrush from scratch, my philosophy is to forgo subdivision levels completely in…
Hi guys, I'm trying to model the junction of the hood and bumper/wing of the car, but I can't make it without the pinching. I've tried making the supporting edges loop all around but it just pinches all around, even if I smooth it out. So if any of you has any idea on how to achieve this, just let me know! Thanks! :poly121:
Hello lads, I have a small problem with my turbosmooth. I have no idea how to explain it so I added an image :) The weird thing is that this isn't happening to other parts of the model with the same shape. I hope someone can help me out here. Kind regards, -Bram (It should be a 90-degree angle like the green lines.)
