Hey there guys! I see there's not many projects done inside of Unity around here, or at least I haven't seen that many of them. I'd like to share some screenshots from my latest environment done in Unity. It's supposed to be kind of a "portable" (or temporary) military base that the soldiers have set up somewhere in the…
Does anyone have any experience with photographically scanning materials to get a light-neutral diffuse/albedo, normal map, or a more robust full BRDF scan? I've seen an old Ryan Clark tutorial here: http://zarria.net/nrmphoto/nrmphoto.html And I'm curious as to whether anyone has set up such a system for a more…
Too much colour! Back off your colours in the abledos, or the lighting. And give some eye rest with the textures. Just a little bit of white or off white stucco with less noise will really help you out. Right now the scene is nearly glowing with color/contrast intensity, and the golden lighting is amplifying everything,…
wow thanks for the long reply and crits! didnt excpect that! It's funny that you mentioned the direction of the heads, as I started with the picture I originaly had them both facing the same way! And the thing i hadnt mentioned about the silhouettes (now I got to learnt to spell that right) was that the left side is…
Hey guys, thanks for your compliments :) I'll be glad to put up some breakdowns on my hand painting workflow, I'm having a break for a couple of weeks from this project but when I start it up again I'll put up some stuff for you. To answer your question though Iciban, I paint the textures with a light direction in mind…
that's the one. it's really wide so a dual screen setup with a 24 inch dell might give you neck trouble. ;) neutral colors, even backlighting (which my dell never really had) are it's strengths. it also doesn't shift colors noticeably when you move in front of it. beware though - the 1440p resolution in a 27 inch package…
Ah yeah, forgot that about Blender. It's an interesting theory, but my fingers tend to hurt whether I'm clicking or dragging--doesn't seem to matter. Whether one does more to bring about the pain in the first place than the other would be interesting to test out, but I'm pretty sure they're both problematic, unfortunately.…
Yeah i guess the point i'm trying to make is that you've sculpted him as if he's pursing his lips, but his lips are in a neutral expression. you can clearly see in both the top center, and top center right references that his orbicularis orbis doesn't protrude as heavily as you've made it/ in face from the nasolabial fold…
the 180 flip is known as 'crossing the line' in film directing, and is generally avoided like the plague as it makes people look like they're suddenly travelling in the oposite direction, unless you cut to a wider angle first that clearly shows which way theyre going from a fairly neutral standpoint. I really love the art…
To freedom of speech it is. Say I find something that needs to become public. I post it, and the original company who doesn't want it to be seen claims copyright. (Probably Song of the South would fit this bill somewhat). More scary, say I have something up that is not actually owned by the company claiming such. The video…
