Looks great! Nice contrast in colours. I'm guessing the hammer head thing isn't done yet, it's a bit bright and relatively clean compared to the character. Nice job on the cape and leather so far. Keep it up! BTW what size and what type of textures are you using?
ah you just havent hammered L and R for 5 minutes properly yet - I guarantee your opinion will change (in one of two gloriously defined ways!) as soon as you do that. If not? You can just go press up on the control stick rhythmically yourself :P
Are those supposed to be two flintlock hammers? I don't see what they are supposed to be striking, either. They look exceptionally thin, as well. I agree with the material definition. Look at a bunch of photos/some real wood, metal, etc. in real life and get a better handle on the specular and the color.
Actually Tetsuo 2: Body Hammer was in color but monochrome in a lot of scenes with blues and oranges. It still was a good film but less of a mind fuck than the first one. Tetsuo the Ironman was extremely surreal and insane. This next one looks awesome though cant wait till it comes out.
seconded :poly142: that musket is lookin fairly aws so far too. Any plans for the cool intricate swirly detail just at the back behind the hammer there? (some cool high poly detail ftw ^__^) ...and that sword rocks (srsly, normal maps are working especially well, awsome job)
pretty much just gotta take massive action and hammer out work, put it up for critique and demonstrate the ability to show the assimilation of that feedback. baby step it, there is no magic pill to get good. find awesome mentors and make sure they are seeing you taking that action to improve and going above and beyond.
@ayoub44 Thanks so much!! I'm really hammering away at this one! Here's an update. I've changed the colours quite a bit on it and went for a sunset. I really like warm colours~ Not too happy with the body of the character right now. If anyone's got any critique, I would love to hear it!
I would add a structure in the middle like a building with 2 entrances for each team to cap the center. It would break up the gameplay and keep the teams pushing for the center. Otherwise I see this more as a achievement map than a competitive map. Did you know hammer prior to making this map?

Ahh I see, thanks for that. I will try a bevel there. I did make a seam and harden that edge but the cage still breaks. There is a tiny shading flaw there that doesn't exist on the lower half of the mesh for some reason. Probably won't even be noticeable as this is a hammer on a flare gun so it is a tiny part of the whole…
