Hello! I have been working on this for a bit now, but I forgot to keep it updated here on Polycount. This is my Nightcrawler Marvel Rivals Fanart based on the concept by @ishaliart (Her and my artstation are linked below where you can see the progress there). This version of Nightcrawler is intended to be a Strategist…
I guess you should align pivot of the object to the faces normals, and animate movement on one axis. There was some script for maya Align Pivot to Selection MEL, maybe it will help
Breakfast at Mel's Drive In, Expo during the day and mixers / partys during the evening! Stoked to see what Polycount is putting together this year. Looking forward to catching you all there!
for anyone using Maya, this script has been extremely useful for a long while already: http://migugi.net/mel/normalTools/ there's also a couple technical-savvy screenshots for those interested.
The mel is : polySelectConstraint -wholeSensitive off; polySelectConstraint -wholeSensitive on; I don't know how to make it so it's a toggle (if/then statement) but you could easily make each a shelf button, or a hotkey.
Your welcome, be careful i think there a 3 versions now Mel, Phyton, and payed. used and search for the free photon one. Plus there are so many more good features in this script Enjoy
This message indicates that Maya can't find the mel file. So you either put the file in the wrong place or forgot to use the rehash command to refresh the script folder (or just to restart Maya).
I'm not too sure how much programmer traffic an artist site like polycount gets but I could see it being handy if artists had a place to talk about Mel and MaxScript.
Nice! For the underwater-scifi-lab look, you could look at The Meg and other similar horror-thriller movies for inspiration. What was the one with Samuel Jackson? Ah, Deep Blue Sea. Might help with the visual story-telling.
