thanks again for the replies! I'd like to tell you more about the project and team. The works were started about 5 months ago and initially we planned to make some peace of next gen so we made a tons of technical and concept art (i'll show you some later). Every prop (from cup to administration building) we tried to make…
HEH, It's been 3 years since my graduation and I am doing marketing freelance and individual environment models for people to put in Poser while I work on my own mobile games. If you really love what you do it is quite painful when major studios (and smaller ones) don't seem to want you. Out of every 30 applications I send…
The on-card vert count is the true evaluation of the mesh. It is a calculation of physical verts plus UV/smoothing/Mat ID vert breaks. There are scripts to view the actual vert count, or in a program like Marmoset Toolbag this is already calculated and accounted for in the vertex count display. I still can't believe how…

:icon60: Thanks graograman88 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I should mention exactly how I'd like to see this Run cycle being evoked, using the League of Legends gameplay mechanics I see this Run-cycle used when the Summoner Ghost Spell is evoked. I've tried to keep his inherit ability to conjure…
When I was little I always wanted to be an architect. My family was broke so they couldn't afford university, also partly knowing this, I fucked about in college and didn't get the grades for a scholarship anyhow. Since 16 the only goal I had was to get to Japan. I was working for probe at the time on some SNES games,…
Still seems too low to be useful though. For an 8k texture, 512 samples seems to be just enough to hide most noise. And having to bake a higher res texture on GPU only to downscale to reduce the noise seems to be slower. I did some simple tests - maybe my GPU bake settings could be better but my results were these. GPU…
If they do, I'm pretty sure they will get another headache a la Silicon Knights, and that's something they most likely will want to avoid, especially with the input in a new engine. After reading the slide, a few things stood out for me: -SSS has shadowed and unshaded mode? Does this mean what I think it means (EI: That…
I think that there is a major problem with the approach you are using to texture your house models. If I were you, I would create a texture atlas and use tilable textures. Right now you are using the none-overlapping UV/render-to-texture approach which really isn't suitable for making such large structures. I would suggest…
putting an FPS gun on a 2048 is very common these days. in FPS games the gun is right in your face 95% of the time, so a map that large is warranted. it may get scaled down to 1024 for consoles, but in all my time working for clients i've always been asked to texture fps weapons at 2048. tbh you're totally off-base about…
