The error message is purely due to missing vertex color data. The rest of it is likely projection distance errors. As a starting point use 0.01 for forward and 0.5 for rear, if that doesn't work you're probably best off using a cage.
thats just silly. Really, how is anybody suppose to keep track of 70 000 + sites? How could they be sure all of the sites were being used to distribute music and movies? That just doesnt make sense to me

That is a local position based on the original position of where the vert was created(is reseted when you do stuff like combine, seperate..). And 1.19e-007 simply means that its rly close to zero(0,000000119).
Try decreasing the bias of the light that's casting shadows? I think it's 0.05 by default, 0.01 might give better results (at the expense of other glitches, but generally they can be easier to cope with). It's a tricky thing to balance.
