@Bolovorix : Thanks man! @kirkos : Cool! Here's a shot from the RockMaterial. It's pretty basic stuff, but the gradient is probably what helps the most. In the desert it's just a near-black gradient, while on the first level it's a green gradient that goes up from water-level, to get more color variation. The lerp is just…
I just picked it up. In the UK heatwave it was like walking in the desert just getting the game. Won't get a chance to play until tomorrow likely :( EDIT: Fuck, just read the manual and map while on the can... This game seems to epic to be true :( I may have to play it when I get in about 11pm even!
@Scotthomer-hey dude, I used a heavily tweaked Keyshot shader and a tweaked lighting set up to get that result, thanks a lot :) @PogoP-Thanks a lot man :D i will do I'm currently sculpting some rocks for a desert environment. Ill get a thread going and link it in here if you fancy checking it out.
The bottom right one is definitely my favorite. The cool blues from the ice chasms juxtaposed with the orange from the structures are a lot more visually interesting to me than the others which just look like standard desert/refinery. Plus I think an ice chasm like that would provide a lot of opportunities with gameplay.
Ugh. 39 years old, never married, and I broke up with my then girlfriend about seven months ago. :( Was almost married once, then she cheated on me and ran off to become a stripper. Last I heard, she was living in a tent in the Arizona desert with her "soul mate" and they were all hippy and shit. Seriously!
Personal project of a deserted coastal prison cell. Low shrubs are foliage meshes from Infinity Blade: Grass Lands from the Unreal Store. Skeleton is a free Turbo Squid mesh I edited posed and textured. Let me know what you think! January 2018. Programs used: Maya, Mudbox, Substance Painter, Unreal Engine 4, xNormal, Ivy…
thanks for the info, so you think 1024 per meter might be a good benchmark for high end PC/next gen consoles? I have to make me up some desert rocks, looks like I should pick up Uncharted 3 for some good reference!
Yeah that last one really shines! Would you mind explain how you did that desert rock version? Very interesting "texture" on the rock, great pattern.. Watch out for shadows though, you got some in all of them? I would take them away completely.
Managed to fix the pinching, which is relatively easy, but i'm too stupid to notice it before. The lowpoly and bake is done, its 5.3k and early textures done with substance. Here's how it look now. Now i just need to model a small desert environment to showcase the character for the final presentation.
Whose first?! How do you guys know who first is? These are all awesome and deserve first! The only thing I see common in third and second are the symmetry of the rooms. They all have there unique beauty that deserve first.
