Great progress, keep at it! I think the ear might be too far back. This might help a tiny bit. http://www.anticz.com/heads.htm Basically the ear hole, sits on top of the jawline in the center of the head. The rest of the ear flowers out of that hole and hangs out in the back half of the head.
Thanks @DEVLiminal for the kind words and encouragement. I agree that the plants coming out of the dragon need a rework. Im going to make adjustments to the moss and see what I can achieve with some more realistic vines on the dragon. All materials use 2k maps. As for texel desity, I aimed for 10.2px/cm. Most building…
truly amazing just come across this thread, i too would love to know how you model the flower and twist and turns and animal heads on your pieces.this thread will be my number one stop for each day thank you for sharing your work with the world
I like the handles but the flower petal on the right sword could use a bit more definition. The wavy shapes on the left one seem a bit wonky, maybe it's just the camera angle but the lowest one seems to have very little volume compared to the top one for example.
Hey there! Nice little scene. You could maybe bend the foliage planes a bit, and add some more grass, flowers, and mushrooms in a few places like at the base of the tree and the well. I also like the lamp, would be neat if it were casting light on some stuff!
You could make those 6-sided cylinders unwrapped into a 'flower' instead, that takes care of half or so of the seams. Or you could unwrap the sides of it like the side of the large shape. That would also take care of half the seams. Then adjust your smoothing groups accordingly.
This is beautiful!! :] I think it would be nice if the flowers were more abundant though, and if you put some smaller rocks and pebbles along/on the pathway in the village. Just to break up some of the empty spaces a bit more, and it would look a bit more natural and not so 'clean'.
I did another pass on my flower baskets and remembered to fix the vertex normals. I also finished the mosaic tile top for the side table for the patio set. I'm currently working on my final lighting pass and other polish - should wrap up this week ( i hope )
Thanks alot guys! I appreciate you stopping by and commenting! Here's an update. I've been painting a little here and there when I have the time. Worked on the hair and dress and adding some flowers and jewelry. I was thinking of making her like some sort of moon priestess type.
So I'm modeling a flower to animate in an environment I am going to be creating for my portfolio. Please criticize as much as possible. Also a few questions: ~ Tris in UDK? Does everything have to be a tri? ~ Exporting static meshes and textures from Maya 2011? How do I do it other than using .fbx or .obj? Thanks, Ethan.
