Solution to alpha shadow problems in Maya.

[Maya] Grow along Ring
So in Maya 2017/18 they finally added the Grow/Shrink along Loop function, thank God. I haven't been able to find some script or native function that does the same thing for Rings though. Do you guys know anything I could use for this? I currently have a script that replicates Max' Dot Ring function, but it's not the same… -

WIP 18 Added a ton of fly away cards to the top section of the hair. Damage/detail polished the body. Added additional alpha details to the hands: panel lines, etc. Fixed the sculpt of the head: forgot the forehead planes. Rotated eyes out a bit. Added vellus hair to head. Sadly that will never happen as long as there are people willing to live in a studio apt with 18 other smelly guys, working for wal-mart wages. The industry will have plenty of people to abuse. you seem to have a material editor filled with arch design materials (from a library maybe) next to where it says '18-default' in the white drop down, there is a button with 'Arch & design (mi)' on it, click that, and in the subsequent popup, pick standard material. Than you should be on the same page as the helpful guide…
