Hello all, I've been trying to find ways how to set polygroups outside of ZBrush and how to import them correctly - sadly without much success. One feature I've come across on ZBrush was "Import Mat as Polygroups", which can be found under preferences -> importexport I've set up a simple cylinder in Maya with two materials…
Zbrush has a terrible user interface, where Mudbox is just like maya's, its so easy to use its amazing 'Zed brush' is how french people pronounce it btw
Okay, so ZBrush 2022 it is then (with one last year of free updates?), which is more than fine for me. Luckily Pixologic added the cloth simulation brushes and tools etc., so I can still play around with those for free then, hehe. Thank god not forcing us to subscription only.

I get this bug when I try to unmask something with the maskpen holding CTRL It looks like I have an alpha on my brush but I don't. I tried exporting it has a ztool and re-importing it, merging it and even changing to another workstation, but nothing worked Does someone have an idea how to debug this thing ?
Subtools? Hard surfaced things like belt buckles are typically best modelled in Maya/3DSM but you can use clipping brushes for them. Edit: Yeah... Zbrush... Use subtools.
