Hey all, this is my first thread. I'm hoping I can get some help with this project, mostly with how to do textures or the best way to proceed with feathers. I'm trying to make an owl/human hybrid Native American for a class. It's going to be modeled in ZBrush. I've got a base human modeled in Maya, and at this point it's…
I'm running into a problem where whenever I add the metallic map that I baked out of Substance Painter, it's messing up the color of my object, making it WAY too bright. It's supposed to be a black object, and it turns somewhat silvery. I only just began with Marmoset today, and I'm following the "getting to know marmoset"…
The "multiplayer" is the ghost system. You can chase your friends ghosts, while trying to beat their score. Much like need for speed: The run, youll know when you beat your friend, or your friend beats you. Then their are "global events" where you sign up for a certain event, which have their own restrictions for equipment…
I really think the concerns raised here apply to just about any creative development endeavour. They're all susceptible to some form of piracy (with the possible exception of sculpture) They're all fairly high risk in terms of return on investment They're all somewhere near stupid to get into if your aim is to get rich…
So this is a system I'm lookin at: Apologies for the layout it's from the shopping cart: So my question is this...the CPU is a FSB of 1333, yet the RAM is 800...the price for DDR3 1333 is PRICEY right now...so is it better to bite the bullet and get the better ram? or just go 8 gigs of the DDR2 800? I also plan to buy the…
@5rettski Observation and speculation can be informative but sometimes the best way to learn is to actually recreate the effect by starting from first principles. It may be helpful to break this problem down into it's constituent parts then work through solving each of them individually to build up an understanding of the…
Nice models but you have similar problems to me with textures, but I will try and help too. I think some silvery scratches on some of the edges, like around the trigger, sights and anything that sticks out farther then other geometry. maybe some powered marks on the muzzle and deep scratches on the wood would also help
I'm totally going against the crowd here, but I rather liked the rivets, given the theme (Samurai Tank), since I've seen so many examples of samurai armor that uses that sort of rivet structure. At the very least keep the rivets on the sidewall (enclosed within the treads) silvery, since that was the area that screamed…
Metals should have a very dark (basically black) diffuse, as the look of pure metals is all in the reflection, metals do not diffuse light. It looks like your texture has a bright silver and yellow color in the diffuse, these should be in the specular map instead. The spec map should be pretty basic, pretty much a flat…
You can use colored text in your posts and in your signatures. There are two ways to do this: * Use the A button. * Or, use the </> button. The A button should be used AFTER inserting the link. If you color it first then link, it won't color the text, that's a bug (reported!). Link first, then color! The </> html editing…
