So I'm having a couple problems working on a car paint shader that I'm doing using this tutorial: http://www.computertreasure.com/maya-creating-a-custom-car-paint-shader-tutorial/ I'm relatively new to using shaders in Maya, so I was bound to run into a hitch at some point, basically here's what I have: When I render the…
So i've got a little issue with a scene I'm working on. I've been putsing around learning simple kismet and matinee stuff to do something similar to the day/night cycle level that comes with udk. The main issue I'm having is this: I've got the sun rotating around, changing brightness and whatnot, and it looks and plays…
I'll give my 2c on this topic and try to stay constructive. The first thing I noticed on most of your objects was material definition was lacking. Even stylized stuff looks like the materials they're made of. One of the biggest ones that i see in yours was your wood material. Squiggly lines on a brown background doesn't…

If you have subdivision levels, there should be a slider under Tool: Geoemtry that you can use to step up and down them (D and Shift+D can be used as shortcuts for this). Note: If you hit D without subdivision levels then it will turn on dynamic subdivision, which is basically just a preview and not the same. Sounds like…
