I had a feeling that might be the culprit. Not quite sure how to go about making that shape so I extruded it in, removed a few faces, And welded the verts. And then added support edges. Hmmm.
Nah, just takes some time to get used to what edge, face or normal to select. Try the script too, I gave it a quick test last night and it works great actually.
Hi Guys, I am modelling a complex object but facing some challenges. Can someone please help me with this. Thank you for your time Problems to solve 1.topology 2.pinches
How do I model a circular shape around a 4 corner shape around a circular shape? I get overlapping face. Tried multiple ways but nothing worked, help please :)
I wouldn't know where to put the 5 sided faces. I have attached a obj of area, so someone can show me correct way visually. http://www.oxynary.com/downloads/hoody.zip
Hi guys, What is the best way of connecting all the faces together? if I Bridge now I still have to connect all the other side of the edges. I want to make it grid squares.
@Udjani You're on the right track. Sacboi is right about working through some additional block-outs to analyze the shape. There's a few distinct features that appear to be in conflict: the oblong boss appears to have a fixed width, the pattern draft appears to be relatively uniform and the complex profile appears to have…
Man this was way trickier than I imagined. 3ds max: I started with a highcount cylinder, removed the top faces and half of the cylinder (using symmetry later on) and moved the verts down, as the others mentioned, bridged those faces and caped the border at the top. Then I connected the verts with the cut tool to get the…
Firstly don't try the whole thing. Break it up into fifths (72 degrees). The outside of the rim you could just start with a torus, make it kinda flat, then get the bevels happening. The center should also be easy; start with a 15-sided cylinder with 2 edge caps, then delete 4/5th of the faces around the center (only 3…
so 3ds max has a modifier that just adds thickness to flat, planar geometry. i did some googling n apparently you can do something similar in maya like this: Polygon > tool options > keep faces together (should be checked on) then select your object goto Edit Polygons > Extrude Face. and then pull out the extrude using the…
