Nice shapes in the sculpt there, but you seem to have some big fault lines running through them, The wall would basically just fall over. Shuffling those square bricks around or removing them should help a bit :)
Amaghad man! Now this is what I'm talking about! Looks really fucking solid all the way trough! What's your approach for the first image? Dropping down tools in ZB or is it a sculpt all trough? You texture in ZB as well?
Hello there! Been following this thread for a long time now and it just occurred to me that I have worked on some rocks of my own. These were for a stylized student project. Zbrush Sculpt: Marmoset Render: In engine: https://www.artstation.com/artist/gubble
Here's my most recent sculpt. It's meant to be a large cliff face that I can rotate around to get variation, but right now the shapes are too large and don't read well in the level. Hoping to go back and redo it later today :P
The digital tutors UE4 rock pipeline has a couple interesting techniques in Zbrush that aren't in other Rock tutorials. Was kind of neat. Don't really like my sculpts shape. Anyways, just followed the texturing portion from that tutorial to get into and learn Ue4.
Aaaaaand... another rock. This time it's just a scan I did with my iPhone to test an app. No cleanup and no nothing. Just the mesh the app gave me and the texture it automatically baked. Pretty impressive. Though I definitely enjoy more sculpting the rocks myself, heh.
Here are some sculpts I did a while ago. These were intended to be used as tileable elements. Polypaint over a brown MatCap. I need to take the time to redo the lowpolys, because these ended looking like giant turds in engine. Screen grabs inside Zbrush.
MAKKON > those renders looks sick! Nice! MALCOLM > love that blocky rock! Straight to inspiration folder:) YONGHEWANG > awesome! DAZZ3R > cool! I've started practicing rock sculpting early this week, dayum it's so hard !! I've been struggling a lot, advices are welcome! cheers
Hey guys ! Made my first maps with Substance today, I'm learning the software :) I took a sculpt I made a few month ago on a professional project, created a low poly and went through the baking and texturing with Substance. Pretty happy for a day 1 result !
Noob on the rocks! I'm fairly new to sculpting and what not, learning blender at the moment. Trying to get that stylized, low poly look but seems there is so many ways to go about replicating that look. What method do you guys suggest when it comes to this type of rock?
