Anyone know where I can find the mel script that is run when I right click on a model and choose object mode. I'd like to replace that script with something that has better functionality but I'm not sure how to track down that command.

could probably set up hotkeys to scripts that isolate and reverse the isolation. Just to be clear, you want the script to do the inverse of what you isolated right? Might try and script it up over lunch.
The script not worked on max2009. The main reason is maxops.getViewportShadingSettings() and ViewportButtonMgr wich is for max2010 +. Commented the problematic lines will solve the problem and script will run properly on max2009. Only AOMask don't work. Thank you for the credit and for the script. :)
If I understood you correctly, you would need a script which finds nearest HP vertex for each LP vertex and then moves LP vertices to corresponding positions for other HP variations. Assuming only proportions change between different HPs, otherwise indices might change.
