Silo doesn't have the expanded features that most major 3D packages have. (rigging, animating, etc...) It is a pure modelling program, designed specifically for a streamlined and optimized modeling workflow. The downside is that you are constrained on what you can do with it. But that's kind of the upside as well. Silo 3D…
Hah, hah, I can load my diffuse and normal map and my custom model inside crazybump now, sweeet . It be nice if loading the maps was more streamlined but this rocks. Thanks Ryan! Alex
Keep in mind that searching for "so-and-so's myspace" would likely contribute to those statistics. That's an entirely more reasonable search than just "myspace" all on it's own. Searching for the name of a band isn't necessarily going to bring up their myspace page very easily, for example, whereas "ass ramming midgets"…
I currently work at SCAD's e-Learning department doing development on the online course materials, so i think i might be in a position to throw in on this. Just to clarify, I'm not here to pitch anything. I do media design here and selling people on SCAD is not my buissiness or my interest. I did my undergrad here and most…
Really nice work, the dungeon being my absolute favourite. As for the layout: Not everyone that uses 1280x1024 browses in fullscreen, I for one, do not. Center the name and link to resume. Other than that, it's streamlined and to the point. Way to go!
wow big difference, thats already a lot better some more crits: in the exhaustion pipe at the rear the is a bubble in it which looks odd almost like a unclean base subdiv model - maybe streamline that shape there more. its drifting in the air,- at least its not visible how it stands on the ground because like that it would…
Redesign looks better, those previous side panels looked a bit flaky and thrown on at the last minute without clear thought. It looks more refined with the new modifications on side being streamlined further and the feet seem more in line with the main organic body and leg armour so thats a win too. Looking forward to…
Modo animation is hardly anything you'd want for game characters, though. It's good for quick simple animations for e.g. commercials, but you can't do character animation in it. Not yet, but maybe one day. [EDIT] But for polygon modeling, it's an amazingly streamlined application.
Hi Usagi! Amphibians are usually cool as hell and yours certainly follows the golden rule It's not an overdone kind of character and yours is really great looking so far It's nice to see some clean and stylized skinwork too, I think it's something not to be forgotten (models don't have to look 100 realistic all the time,…
40 people on a project isn't that small. Plus I think they outsourced a lot of their assets (as shown when someone from Streamline recently showed their Gears work in P&P). Still, it'd be interesting to know how long each model was scheduled to take, from start to finish. Any of the Epic guys on these boards got clearance…
