Thanks for links dude! I am totally super new to UE4! Tell me something (I might sound totally retarded here, bear with me :D), Are those UE4 tutorials by the UE4 team really good? Tutorials link here: here
I would merge the metallic and roughness maps into a single texture using substance painter UE4 template, after that like rexo12 told, inside UE4, click on your rough/metallic textures and uncheck sRGB, that will make your textures look good inside UE4.
UE4? Very cool. Is lighting still baked in UE4 or is it all real time now? Heard they went back and forwards on this not sure where they ended with it.
Until the UE4 plugin documentation is out anyone looking to put the plugin into UE4 this is how I did it and it works fine. Go to your Quixel directory and go to the folder Scripts then Plugins. You will see the file UnrealEngine4, copy that folder and then go to your UE4 folder in program files and then look for Unreal…
working on my m2u implementation for UE4. That means a Plugin on the UE4 side that listens on a TCP port. The maya implementation will then send the commands to that port. Testing stuff in the python shell here. I think I can post a video with maya->UE4 action within the next week. :)
