@ R0gu3 I was thinking about that too, so I did a bit of research..apparently it heavily depends on the engne and the type of game, but the official CryEngine 3 documentation says about 9-16k triangles for a main character, while for example Drake from Uncharted uses 20-30k.. Would be interesting how those numbers change…
Buy.com is also offering the deal, but for $169. I still like my Best Buy deal now. My wife had to make several visits and bitch out some management, but she was able to find someone who understood the company's policy and gave us the 2 extra HD-DVDs. Apparently it was posted in their breakroom to honor that deal.

The green naked statue I this place, not sure why. Reminds me of working in a team. Serious learning coupled with stupid perverted jokes and rofl's. oh and fart jokes. just got the okay to post more of the ambiant life for the game. so here's some fish! blue gill red snapper black drum rainbow trout polycounts vary from 160-171 each has a 128x128 texture i think the trout sucks, and think i'll redo the texture. I'm told it will look better with an irredencence shader on it.
Very nice and painterly. 16k is tremendously large in terms of poly count though, for any engine -as far as I know. He's small enough that you could probably cut him down to about 4-6k tris. The extra poly counts probably help make him look super aliased for presentation purposes though! Great job!
Setting up these relatively low poly assets, roughly 500 tris each. I'm okay with the meshes but the textures just aren't convincing me. Textures have always been a bit frustrating to me so I'd like to hear any kind of feedback or if I'm missing something painfully obvious direct me to a Textures 101 tutorial if it's that…

I mean just recently I learned about broken tangents along UV seams and how they can cause normal map seam errors. Humm, I am using unwrella2, and when I make my seams, and then use unwrella, unwrella uses both the default seams max made and the seams I made. How do I just get uwrella to use my new seams? Sorry for 101 questions in this thread but you guys are being really helpful so I appreciaite it.
