Hey! Thx Lutzbot for your overpaint! really helpful! Unfortunately i had already blocked out my model before i read your answer so the shape won't change that drastic anymore... I completly forgot about where to lead the eye in this concept... after applying some gradients it looks way better now! Huge thanks! My new…
Thanks for the advice and inspiration. I am indeed branching out a lot. I'm not really going to graduate from my uni though as I'm going for a credit based contract instead of a bachelor degree contract. My uni has 3 different major lines with each their own 3D and you only get to pick one major. I found this a bummer and…
The good news is that animations skills
are animation skills not matter what, so the transfer to 3d hopefully
won't be to difficult! I only have time to critique one
animation currently so I'll pick the spell cast animation since it
has some nice potential. You have a nice start. If you're comfortable
with 2d animation you…
Your rig pose and skin pose can be different, they don't need to match. So you can rig in a T but once the rigging is done you can deform it into the A-Pose and skin your mesh. sometimes it is easier to model in an T-pose too, but after the hands and arms are done deform it into a A pose so you can work on the shoulders.…

This has been talked a lot on polycount but in my opinion being able to draw well is essential to making a good model, in particular character models. All those people who say they don't draw well but churn…
After much pain I got her rigged and skinned: Woo! Some feedback! I agree, I think that she needs to have some of her colours more vamped up and needs much more use of that accent colour. I think I'll do a few paintover thumbnails to evaluate that. In terms of her colour versus the environment, whilst theres some help from…
@TylerFluharty Thank you for your input! Regarding the normal map, I've been using Maya's Transfer map function between HP and LP. I haven't really put in any nuts and bolts anywhere. I guess I should, however, if I am to make a showpiece out of this one. You're also right about the specular - it looks a bit like a…
Most people bake maps using an external program like xNormal. You can 'colour' your mesh in zBrush via Polypaint - a tool which essentially allows the user to paint over the geometry using the faces as reference data! You can activate this by hitting the "Rgb" or "Mrgb" tabs. There are ways of baking…
Yup, just bought some malt extract for my next brew - Chamomile wheat beer with honey. Found the recipe in this book: [ame="https://www.amazon.co.uk/Extreme-Brewing-Enthusiasts-Guide-Craft/dp/1592532934/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322735270&sr=8-1"]Extreme Brewing: An Enthusiast's Guide to Brewing Craft Beer at Home:…
