Well ... this is precisely why this kind of "stylized scifi" stuff is just much more approapriate to build as a subdiv model rather than in strict CAD. This type of models/designs are filled with such impossible transitions like what you have here ; and as matter of fact finding ways to handle them is a big part of the job…
Hey guys! I am a scifi concept artist and here are a few pieces I just been working on. I am trying to focus more on creating design that would be useful to modelers in the game production pipeline. Any critiques and feedback would be much appreciated. :) To view more of my work just visit http://www.artofdannyhuynh.com/
Hey guys, I'll give it a try as it's not too late ;) (not sure I'll have the possibility to finish it, but let's try). I'm still getting references/doing some test, and will update asap. Edit: The idea is to do a futuristic version of the L85A2 (not too scifi, just something different on the materials/color style). Here is…
scifi design is one of my weak points too. I would look at resources for industrial design and product engineering, those will really help you out. here are some useful vids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-n94ggmsVDg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkYnoaSB5xw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crCZEQEgFZ0
Fantastic style as always D: I can definitely see this becoming a huge universe and a game eventually. I'm really curious to see how it would look like if you tackled scifi stuff too. YOur style is so on spot, I think it'll generate some really interesting designs and images.
Bigger textures! (1024x for 10ft walls and try to keep the pixel density the same as that) You need some next gen stuff too. To entice all different kinds of company's its best to make a divers selection of locations. Good standards are: scifi/techo lab modern city street forest something old
I have been working on this for about 2 days. This is my first scifi environment :) Main theme -> science lab for testing exotical plants. I need to figure out more assets like tables, pipes etc. Using maya, substance and unity :) please comment if you have any ideas for assets Roof inspiration
Hey Polycount! I've been working on this retro scifi space base in my spare time over the last few months, and I've finally got the exterior to the point where I'm happy to show it off a bit! Rendered in UE4, with all the textures/materials created in Substance Designer. Anyway, the next step is to start making interiors…
I wanted to play a bit with Substance Painter, so I decided to model this scifi grenade, based on the concept of juan Novelletto Screenshots taken from substance Painter : Quick render with iRay through Substance Painter : The original concept art from juan novelletto : It was fun to jump into this fantastic tool, really…
