Rendered in Maya, materials were just standard Blinn mtls with a custom cubemap applied. Nothing fancy ^^ The lighting is done by our lighting artist Pierre-Yves Donzallaz
RJBonner - If you use Damons std brush in Zbrush and turn on radial symmetry, you can just drag diagonally (Might need to increase lazymouse radius a little)
There is a way to do it, with material editor in 3dsmax and exporting with a path and folder, should be fine like that, it should also export the .mtl file for max to read the textures and all that jazz.
I think you could use sth from this tutorial by Lennyagony, look for the low poly part and the parts below that. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=123397498
wow, great news :) Thoguh its pitty that Mtl Hilton hotel is a horrbile place to hold big conferences, and that they rasie conf pass fees like crazy :P
love the overall idea.. .would be great to have more fish like features in the creature, since the Innsmouth guys were fishy :) some scales or gills or sth of the sort...
I am not expert to matte, but i think it is sth wrong with the lighting... everything seems to be too bright (given very dark sky), but I'm not really sure tho.
