Looks like that detail overlay you've put on in Photoshop is nuking a lot of the underlying normalmap detail. How are you applying that? If you're generating from the NVidia filter, make sure that you set the layer's blend mode to Overlay, and to Image -> Adjustments -> Levels, change the channel to "Blue" in the drop-down…
Hey, so I've been working on a new character and really wanted to approach the hair in a more realistic way. I came across this tutorial snapshot (https://cdnb1.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/000/790/585/large/danilo-athayde-hair-breakdown-comp.jpg?1443930280) which mentioned a hair solution plugin called Ornatrix…
Are you actually using a specular-gloss workflow based on the tutorial, or a metalness-roughness workflow? The latter one is the most typically used in these days. Because on your "Gloss" slot has a "roughness" map, and you inverted it to work as a gloss map, which is right to get it work properly in that case... ...but I…
Thank you everyone for your kind comments ! Here 's what I have sofar for Pisciasa model, I can quite say that the modeling for the girl is done, I will defenitely need some more polishing here and there on the model while I am working on the texture later ( like adding more micro hair strands, facial features or clothes…
stuff looks good, don't worry man about the detail thing, it looks like you always try to make everything equally polished, but thats not necessarily needed at all, many artists leave most of the image raw with broad strokes and then polish up the focal point with the final detail. You dont need to make everything equally…
Ahh.. This suit is made by "TrooperExpert" or TE. He's a prop maker dude. Its the most accurate set of armor out there. Some pics of finished suits look like they are right out of the movie. As well they should be since the Helmet was moulded after a screen used ANH helmet, and the armor moulded from a ROTJ set. The Suit…
Actually i haven´t made any changes to the taken pictures. In wich programm do you stitch? I have used PT GUI and i think with this you will go good. The Tripod is an Manfrotto 055 X PRO B.…
I agree with Roffotron's choice of the i5-750, assuming you want to go with Intel and don't have $1000 to spend. This is the build I just put together to replace my nearly 5 year-old machine: (CPU) Intel i5-750 ... $200 (CASE) Antec Sonata III ATX ... $110 (MOBO) Gigabyte P55A-UD3 ... $135 (RAM) Corsair 2x2GB DDR3 1333 ...…

My workflow on some smaller objects right now involves creating minor details (electrical sockets, small switches, bumps) as a 0-255 grayscale height map with a 128 midpoint that I normalize with the Nvidia filter and overlay on a baked normal from max that I use to capture general surface curvature. Right now I'm fighting…
