Truly amazing stuff in the Blue Dot video. It's one of the most impressive demos I've seen. If I didn't know it was 3D in advance I would have probably been fooled into thinking it's a real human actor. Two times where he raises his eyebrows it looks a bit uncanny for a brief moment. Specifically at 0:23 and 0:32 mark in…
Maya 2013 is giving me an error when I try to load a HDR cube map saved as .dds float32 RGBA. Googling found some info on the Maya 2014 docs that seems to hint that 16 or 32 bit array(like a cubemap) textures are not supported. Surly I'm crazy and am just missing something?
I wanted to ask. For people, who have tried Photoshop for 3d texture painting. Is it any good? Is it convenient for painting 8k, 16k and 32 k textures. I am thinking of trying out mari, or 3dcoat. For me, I find Mudbox a little less intuitive. I normally use Viewport canvas in 3dsmax.
Hey guys, here is a post mortem on our HL2 MOD "Age of Chivalry" a first person multiplayer game based in a medieval setting. Many from the community have and continue to contribute to this great game. Enjoy! http://www.moddb.com/mods/age-of-chivalry/news/32-maps-released-and-a-reflection-on-age-of-chivalry
Unless I'm misunderstanding; you can achieve the same thing (having the grid at increments of 2/4/8/16/32/etc) by setting preferences > input> workplane > plane and grid increments to 10, 25, 50 with your unit system set to game units.
eric: note for padding: "You can never have too much, ever, never ever ever have too much, its a non-existent problem having too much padding". I use like 32 pixels for everything, because well, why not?
Was pointed out this interview. See 3:32 minute mark where he goes into pirating/DRM thoughts. [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87pevh2Q0hg[/ame] Also, as expected, Ubisofts verification servers have been attacked again with a DNS based method.
Thank you both for the advice, I think I may have pushed the dynamesh too much from with I was getting the very basic bust shape to blocking in. I'll adjust it back down to around 32 and start blocking from there. this is very helpful thanks!
No but seriously guy, some more info would be helpful. What software? 32 bit or 64 bit? What renderer? What sort of lighting? What resolution render? What triangle count? What method for sub-division? etc any info here is helpful
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555223/en-us Microsoft says XP Professional supports 4gb of RAM. However, I think only 3gb can be used on programs which support it. WinXP 64bit can use 4Gb RAM for 32-bit apps if they support it.
