Blender recently got a fix for fly mode with tablets - the view would spin uncontrollably, which is now no longer the case. Shift-F navigation through a large environment or the like with a wacom tablet is now possible and very nice. Thank you, Blender devs!
Nothing says drawing happily like a penis tank. I have a old Intous 1 and really tempted to follow you on this. No real need to get the old tablet to work, but this would be a nice project to tinker with and it would be nice to try again my first tablet.
My relatives bought a new tablet and gave me their old one. It's a previous generation of iPad. I know that Samsung has pressure sensitive tablets with a stylus but I have seen nothing like that for iPad. I was wondering if there is something like this for Apple products. And what apps would you recommend for drawing?…
Does anyone that uses Bodypaint3D have a problem with 'lag' when using your tablet with Win7? I just installed BodyPaint on my new win7 install and the cursor has the blue 'thinking' icon that appears and it's incredibly laggy to paint with. Any hints? About to throw the model into zbrush to paint but I wanted to get…
I'm going to try to get into sculpting and I'm having a tough time trying to figure out which tablet I should get for Zbrush. Right now I'm looking at two different tablets - the Wacom Intuos Pro M and the XP Pen Artist 15.6/15.6 pro. Which one of these would be better for sculpting with?
Probably the best thing for a beginner is to stick with Blender for now and pick up Maya a little bit later. If you're a student be sure to take advantage of the student licenses for Autodesk's programs. It's good to pick up a 2d program like Krita or Photoshop as well to do textures and sketches. If you're serious about…
There's Tattoo by TeraBit: http://www.terabit-software.co.uk/Tattoo.aspx It uses Direct3D 7, and I suspect that it doesn't support graphics tablets. You can still use a tablet with the program, but it'll be treated as a mouse cursor. It should run on any Windows system if the compatibility setting is on.
Does it always use both monitors? Have you messed with the Wacom Tablet properties at all? I usually have my tablet set to only work on one monitor at all times. You can set up program specific properties as well.
So I re-inked my character with tweaked tablet settings. Turned out my tablet pen's tip was too soft before, so I couldn't get any line variation. New one is on the left, the old on the right. What a difference!
Probably fine to use 48x48 for both. Best way to know is to test on a tablet. Do some research... What resolution is the tablet? Etc. But either way, the end result is pixels not vectors. PNG is pixels only. Use whatever software you're comfortable using.
