A Skull. Half scale maybe? https://boneclones.com/group/half-scale-human-skulls Or one of these http://www.anatomytools.com/anatomy-c5.php Or something similar.
Try to imagine where the skull sits inside the volume. Currently these forms have very little solid structure. Perhaps on your next model start with just a skull and build from it.
Okay Thanks for this! It's really Helpful. I don't Currently have a skull. I would love one if you got a good one. You're probably right about practicing with a skull.
The wavy cracks you see on the back of the skull is the result of the skull merging together as you grow. At birth your frontal and parietal bone aren't connected. The 'crack' is called The Coronal Suture
the heads on the bottom i guess its romero on a stick, rayman, the skull from torment, scorpion's head, lost soul from doom3 and whats the flaming bull skull looking thing?
hey dont usually post here but a simple head I made in maya. I textured the 1st skull but not the second. Human skull is 314 tris and the demo/beast thing is 344
looks pretty cool. maybe try tieing the large skull into the smaller ones by making the smaller ones go around a rib cage implied for the larger skull.
Hello guys here is a sculpt I did in Sculptris, it was my first attempt at the program. I was really impressed by it. I used a combination of a regular human skull and a peruvian skull. Comments and Feedback is welcome. I took it in zbrush to make some quick renders. Thanks.
skull studies yesterday today I'm not putting much effort into teeth and detailing. As I'm sick of skulls for now I'll probably do full heads for the next week or so :) I struggle with the back of the head, it's hard to get a feeling for the shapes there.
The forehead goes way to much forward. In general you should work on the shape of the skull, the top part in particular. The ear flows a lot softer into the skull as well. Keep it up! It's a worthy cause.
