Apparently MJPolyTools causes some strange properties in the hypergraph that are a pain to clean up. Is there a better edge splitting plugin that can split only selected edges? (I use the split ring tool built in, but it only splits whole rings).

hmm the default max cut tool is garbage when you compare it to other programs like say Maya, Silo or XSI. Autodesk claims to have fixed it finally, but I haven't used Max 2009 much to say. One of my most recent models. Did concept art, modeling and PBR texturing of this hand tool. Used Quixel Suite for base material block out, and then did some manual work also. Used Zbrush for highpoly detailing and xnormal for baking it all to lowpoly. Already available in latest Beta update of Space Engineers.
