wow, thank you guys that's very interesting. This in particular :poly115: I think the word 'formula' actually originated from Nick in this conversation. What I'm referring to throughout the talk are "elements" of beauty, which are essentially the guides you're talking about. The only formula I could derive from the talk…
I like this a lot. Personally, I don't think the vines are doing much for you. They're a weird element that I can't put together in my head. Maybe more of a slaughterhouse vibe? Meat hooks hanging around, chains, etc? And yes, the statues are pretty dark. And they're such a cool element it's a shame to lose them.
Love it! I'd love to see your wireframes for your door, I think it looks super awesome! I think you juxtaposition of the sci-fi element and then the low tech building is kind of neat, but i'd like to see the scifi elements kind of echoed through your building subtly? But that's just my 2 cents.
It's like it's always looking for a cage even when you specify i as 'off' and when there is one it generates the same error. This is wen pressing the 'Bake Me' button otherwise when pressing the 'Bake Selected' or 'Bake All' buttons I get "These element(s) couldn't be baked: element name" These errors are generated by…

@ellis_3d Thanks, yours looks great as well. Did another pass on the blockout, adding more elements to the telescope and blocking the materials on it. the Octopus Ornament is very rough as Im deciding on whether to flesh out that part a with poly modelling in the High poly pass before Zbrush or just sculpt that element…
Hi! By now you probably put your plan into action. When you're generally happy with the shading achieved by the modifier, you could apply it as a starting point. Personally, I define sharp edges while checking the mesh shading, placing UV seams at the same time (unwrapping in Blender). I had another look at the model, so…
There are a few scripts floating about for partial selections. There's also the command: select.between which can select the elements between two selected elements. You can set up a hotkey for it in the Input Editor. EDIT: I like using: select.more and select.less I think these are set to the up and down arrow keys by…
I love the first and sixth designs for the staff. It keeps elements of the original iconography of the classic staff, and are blended well with sharper elements necessary for the skin. I love this skin concept so much! (I may or may not be partial to loving sharks and things related to them haha ^ v ^) Looking forward to…
