scues me--- the hair is actually on a separate map-- painted it on a 512, but I could reduce it to a 256 or 128, but the rest of the body is 1x1024

One in the red box is version 5.2 and one you are seeing is 5.3 which has updated / improved and more organized interface.

You can lower the size to 2K, 1K, 512.. Not sure your machine is designed to handle 4K textures. Good luck. :)

Try using a texture that is 2^n (power of two - ie 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096 etc.) That should fix it.

yes. You could even break it down farther if you wanted to, from 4 512s, to 16 256s, or, any combo of that.

New texture its a wall panel.I hope it looks closer to deus ex style.Texture is 512*2 and C&C are welcome.

Either one, depending. As for texture resolution, there's a setting for it in max, but I think it caps at 512. Customize -> preferences -> viewports -> configure driver

Yeah 1024x1024 such be enough for a piece like this. You'd even get a decent outcome with a 512 as well. That aside its a good piece.

probably not the issue.. since its maya not max So 1084 faces for both characters, 1084/2= 542 per char no?
