I really loved this style and I have the mesh and textures on file. It's a low poly mesh with a hand painted diffuse texture and a baked high poly normal map. I love the stylised sculpted edges and was wondering how that's done? Was this sculpted and then retopo'd to low poly? Would it be possible to make the low poly and…
Hi there, We're looking for a 2D animator to create cartoon-style special effects for a stylised sports game. Examples of the style we're looking for are: [ame] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_KPCkGtDMw[/ame] [1] (love the dust on this one) [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMGb0iP_wpI[/ame] [2] (explosions and smoke)…
As far as I'm aware pressure sensitivity isn't possible on the ipad. There are various Stylus' (Styli?) for the ipad though - including a Wacom one. I agree that Art Rage seems to blend and create realistic painterly looks very well.
Thanks a lot guys for the comments. I normally use color specular maps. For this project I wanted to use greyscale specular since I'm learning that not all engines use color specular. I would have prefered color specular since I'm not a fan of white highlights (the miniature painter in me just has this thing against using…
Thank you guys for the advice. The Jack of All Trades approach hasn't really been working out so far so I'm more than open to focusing in on a few areas. I've started into better organising my portfolio. The nearest studios to where I live tend to do a lot of colourful, stylised 3D stuff for TV Animation. So would working…
Hey man, looks awesome. I hate to be a ball-buster but even though you're going for a stylised look, his legs to me don't really seem like they'd be able to take that much weight in the upper body. I mean right now it looks like he would just topple forward. Your detailing is incredible though (I wish I could sculpt that…
Hi, thank you for wanting to give me feedback. So with these pieces, I was focusing on trying to come up with designs that were more stylised, I’m influenced by things such as League of Legends, WoW and Darksiders as well as artists like Baldi Konijn and Devon Cady-lee. My main focus right now is to try and push my…
PBR shading can be very realistic and that is its main purpose, however your art director may want to use pbr shading in an unorthodox way like on highly stylised meshes pushing the smoothness up really high on some faces or making others very dull and rough. The results can look pretty cool. I just said it looks like pbr…
If you just getting going check out 3D Totals 'Eva Wild' tutorials. its very comprehensive and focuses on the under lying anatomy rather than just the tools. Be warned the result is stylised but the info is very good. https://shop.3dtotal.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_64&products_id=54&osCsid=48qfk02f918h9dmhjgnkv2rsf5…
Thanks, I used a step by step tuto with my own reference photos, yes the ass is a bit saggy on the reference photo lol but I was going for more realistic than stylised. I still have a lot of work to do on it and I keep going back and redoing bits as I figure out better ways of doing things. I think I will redo the arms and…
