I'm a personal fan of adding initials as a prefix to scene files, so you can track down the original owner / artist at a glance without having to check through P4. Also helps with accidentally naming a file the same as another artist.
Yeah, I'll take care of the text in PS for sure. But with so many SD and SP tutorials out there, I haven't had luck finding one that details adding rust, specifically. Jerc, could you point me in the right direction?
Perhaps you could just draw a second set of text in black with an incrementally larger size but draw it behind the white text? I've had to fake strokes that way in ps or illustrator on occasion when the font doesn't like to play nice.
its all nice. but what happend to the colours - its very grayish. just try a vibrance adjustment layer in ps with like +20 each - sure it doesnt have to look super poppy, but a little color is nice too you know :)

Cheap, are'nt you on a 233 mmx system? of course it's going to be slow. Zbrush is 200 bucks, and does all of this in realtime, and using the applink plugin you can edit the flat maps in PS extremely fast back and forth yada yada.
