Uv layout for VFX and cinematics
Hey guys! Stupid question here but I can't find a good answer online. I am building a retro laser gun with the idea of making it with the standard of cinematic and films. I want to do a proper UV layout but im a bit lost. Do any of you can help me whith this? Should I use one big map or 4 small ones for example... ?… -

Maybe you guys can help me out, because no amount of google searching is finding anything.. It's on PC, was recently featured on Kotaku I believe and was talked about as being very similar to XCOM, but set on a space station. Actually, yeah, that's a great point - lack of mouse button customisation seems like a glaring oversight in both Max and Maya. I had so many quick little shortcuts on my mouse (and the forward/back buttons are so handy for stuff like undo/redo viewport or skip up/down subdivision levels etc) it seems a bit retro to "lock"… -

You could finish the Sega, add some more props, a nice geeky table and stuff like that and make a nice retro gamer-dungeon scene and have some fancy lighting and post production and get more of a cartoony and joyful scene you could ever get with the stuff you tried so far. At least that´s what I think. Your Sega looks good… -

There is this. http://www.drpetter.se/project_sfxr.html for more retro sounds. It was also used quite a bit during the Mojam. I also have an Old Skool status Soundsnap account so I can get 5 soundfx from there for free. But they have good sound effects. Sadly I looked over the Terms of User and it doesn't look like I can… -

It's great to play online/LAN ... got a couple of bugs but nothing game-destroying. Plenty of mods and maps out for it too. The art does feel like it needs some brushing up (particularly the GUI), in general it feels a bit programmerish... also the tree textures are very basic, however some of the downloadable maps look… -
