I agree with Rai on this without a doubt. I played the first two Diablos religiously, it really hurts to have this purchasable nonsense so accessible and promoted upon, it was one of the things that hurt the last two. If it's how I've seen it is so far, I've got little to no incentive to save loot for my friends playing a…
Number 1 I've already written as a MEL script (currently at work tho so I can't release it without clearance - I wrote a similar thing for Max though, which is available). It's not much more than 200-300 lines of code, and probably could even be optimised more - also I'm pretty sure there are other scripts out there…
DAY 0 For this project I'm going to attempt to re-learn ZBrush, and sculpt something cool for my portfolio in under 30 days. I learned a little bit of ZBrush back at art school, but I didn't liked it all that much. I never clicked with the user interface and the camera controls. A couple of weeks into that sculpting class,…
Hi, I would like to create a scene to present my props and want to use an HDR with a gray background. Something like this. The above was rendered in 3DO however there are some projects that will need to use materials in unreal. This is what I have in Unreal. This is using the lightstage. I also tried using a post-process…
My view of things: (i could be wrong..) Suppose things like extra detailing can still be done, if people like to keep those anatomy muscle memories thriving due to repeated "recreation & brush-up", then it can still be useful. Not a big "make-art-button", guy as others of late have been by promoting it, so i would still…
Hello Polycounters, I have a really bad PC on which I can't do much except maybe, basic texturing and modeling on Maya... (It's a 2006 Vista Windows with an outdated graphic card and processor with 2 GB of ram..) I am working to buy a new tower which will run smoothly 3D applications and game engines. On the meantime, I…
You might want to give Iray a try. it looks like you're using mental ray. there are a million more settings in mental ray than iray so it's easier to get a good result. Also you just set it to render and then stop it when all the noise is gone. :)
Lux, In my adventures I have found no item of utility greater than rope. A length of rope can be used to climb up, or down. Attach a hook and the rope allows for distant grappling; tie a loop in the rope and toss it at a great wyrm on the Sahryn plains, then hold on tight. The property of rope that I find most incredible…
I think you're talking about the Diffuse Color option under the Lighting Settings in the material? That was my first idea too, but it affects all areas that are lighter than black. I just want to mask off an area where I can change the color. In my scene, I have a all dark gray pipes. I'd like to mask off the dark gray…
