Today's exercises, still having problems with the eyes and mouth area, but I am not letting me that stop me and I will continue to improve and update my process to accommodate for a better result. (Arnold Schwarzenegger) like always any tips that can help me will be greatly appreciated!
** I Have The Power ** Hi ZBC! I want to share my latest project which I finish during this lock-down. This the regular version as i am planning to do an Exclusive version with some dynamic Pose. Sculpted in ZBrush, Renderd in Arnold. Hope you guys like it!
Im using Marmoset as well as SSS but I cant get a realistic result im looking for should I use vray or arnold? Or am I just not doing a good job with anatomy?
Whats your zb multimap export settings look like? Is "smooth uvs" turned on before you export? I've had artifacts like this happen before in arnold and vray when I haven't turned smooth uvs on. Hope you found a solution
@NikDemidko Thanks! I'm getting the scene ready in Arnold now and here are some of my test renders. I'm debating on whether I should rotate the model for each shot to get it more into the light or just have one static light arrangement. Ideas?
Really nice likeness man, nice work. Did you follow any specific tutorials for the skin rendering itself? I've done the Tom Newbury rendering tutorial in Arnold and Xgen but I still get some problems when it comes to the SSS etc.
I know that, in a way is easier but makes it impossible to try it in a different way. Bu my idea was to make a eye setup that would work for high render and realtime, it works on arnold and marmoset but refraction on unreal doesn't work the same way the other render engines
Finally finished the sculpt of my upcoming character to be rendered Anakin Skywalker! Still got to figure out with what I will render this guy, marmoset, unreal or Arnold.. Shaders arevbroken down into a few basic idea. For a start I recommend Xuan Prada's Look Dev course at digital tutor. He may uses Vray but the basic concepts is appl9cable in Arnold/MR/VRay. http://www.digitaltutors.com/tutorial/819-Look-Development-for-Visual-Effects-in-Maya
Shaderfx is Maya best kept secret , close to abandonware by AD in favor of Arnold aiStandard viewport preview, but the tool is absolutely great and extremely powerful to push Maya Viewport 2.0 abilities to it's limit. The guys who code it Kees Rijnen unfortunatly for us leave AD, to go at PIxar.
