Ugh. What is causing this strange gap? This is the seam between two polygons where the image begins to tile. I checked the UVs they are 0.0 and 1.0, there is no gap, and it only shows when it's displaying the mixed texture. This is a 3ds Max Standard material.

It's the way Nintendo has operated for over 120 years. When their main venture isn't working out, they start focusing on another aspect of their business. Nintendo have dabbled in taxi services, running hotels and even steel in the past.
To bake maps to itself just turn off the high poly. So for your example just load the high poly as the low poly slot and turn off the tickbox next to high poly and then bake whatever map you want. There are even some nice passive 750 cards from asus, zotac and expertvision. They run pretty well if you got at least one casefan. I'm not sure if you got this resolved yet, but I had the same problem. Here's the fix. Your custom mesh has to be exported from the origin. (0,0) I also had a problem where I couldn't move/rotate/pan my mesh with my pen/tablet, but I could do it with my mouse. I hope this helps.
