I remember a show that had recreations of alien encounters, and "home videos" i miss those. I just wish i knew what it was called so i could see if its on the internet somewhere. I remember one episode quite well as it was on of the "home video" types where they were sitting down for thanksgiving dinner when a lights go…
When you baked the simulation you baked the animation to the vertices. Which is fine except unity doesn't support vertex animation. Best bet would be a vertex deforming shader or possibly using unity's cloth system. Depending on the complexity of what you are looking for a simple rig and skin could give a cheap wind effect.
That guy at 0:47 in the video ... ouch. Apart from neck pain I'd be concerned about eyesight issues. Personally I haven't used one of these long enough to get a real impression but the setup always looked like too much hassle - having palettes potentially hidden under the palm, having to find workarounds for keyboard and…
Really nice work in here, really got to say the amount of stuff you've knocked out in this thread is great (Y) Although the models you're building seem fine with me my biggest concern with most of your pieces (not all) are the contrast values / post effects/ etc for your final shots... I tend to find a lot of your pieces…
I hope this thread is alright, it's something that's been weighing on me for a long time and I was hoping I might be able to find some advice here. (Also I hope this is the right place, I was stuck between General Discussion and this one.) It's kind of heavy and personal but gosh dang it I'll just jump right in before I…
https://www.foundry.com/news-and-awards/foundry-winds-down-modo-development Relevant to the - (checks notes) - three users this software still has in game dev. You are seen! We stand with you. Also moving software sucks. Holding on to some museum piece from years back that lacks all the modern goodies and refuses to run…
I've been recreating low poly trees from WoW in SpedTree, and I assumed that SpeedTree would use bones for the wind animations. But it actually only uses vertex animations for the wind. The engine only uses bones for animation, so I need a way to create wind animations with them. The tree is made up of 4 different frond…
While there are CERTAINLY objectively quantifiable skills involved in producing art -- and production artists or illustrators depend on them -- you're overreaching by making a pretty ludicrous, hard to swallow argument and then failing to back it up at all. By saying art is never too subjective to judge, we've got to…
We are developing a PC game and are looking for a programmer who can help move the project forward. There is already an experienced programmer on the team who has done a significant amount of work, but he now needs an assistant — someone who can take responsibility for parts of the system and help bring the project to a…
You should check out Steamtrades, I'm sure you'll get offers in next to no time. Keep in mind though, The Binding of Isaac + the DLC costs less than the price of most of the games you listed, so if you did a trade you'd technically be giving more for less rather than giving something of equal value (unless of course the…
