I would recommend trying to break the scene up into obviously tiling textures, things such as the floor, walls and so on. Then also create a second set of trim textures you can reuse on certain pieces. You can also make some hero assets that have a bit more character to them. Decal's can also be helpful in creating variety…
Of course it's a free event. Who in their right mind would pay to enter an art contest that requires a commitment of countless hours over a few months in order to finish? This whole "we should be happy to be able to work for free" angle of yours is rather weak. Not everyone is so desperate for exposure. Yes, organizing a…
That's exactly what I was thinking :D , I like the paint decay effect of the 4, the discoloration of 1 and 6. I'll try to combine them effectively. Really nice Ork Jet on your ArtStation page by the way, texturing work is top tier.
you may want to do more with damage and decay. if this thing has been sitting there for a while, you'll need to show the "life" of the scene through that. more intense lighting may help a bit too. check this scene out done by Jim Magill
Ok, wow. I have no idea what I wrote in years past - hopefully it's consistent and not too confusing ;) - and I just googled the Intuos 2025 and yeah: that looks different (mine are what might be called Intuos Pro of the previous generation or two). So you got three separate buttons on the pen now as opposed to the rocker…
Oh, just saw this. @MBauer17 - that is an exceptionally serious accusation to make. Not only is it factually incorrect, but it’s also entirely unearned on a personal level. The answer I shared in your thread provides all the context you need. But more importantly — we don’t do this here. We’re artists. We’re here to…
That's quite the write up you made Dataday. As far as worry over if Alien artifacts are a "thing" in the Unreal universe, they most certainly are. The whole premise of Unreal 2 centered around alien artifacts and visiting different worlds. Sometimes they mutated the landscape or the creatures of the planet. Regardless this…
Butthair: Thanks, Ya I still have a lot of detail and decay to add. I'm straying a bit away fro mthe concept. Some more work, mostly just focused on the left part. I'm going to add the same detail to the rest after.
Im working on a scene for class, it is supposed to be in the near future where the old technology is decaying as you can see from the rusting telephone lines. I wanted it to feel kind of sobering, forgotten and lonely not sure if that gets across. Any suggestions would help.
I'd recommend sculpting in some more bone matter/decay. You can see the holes & ridges from the first image reference Lavitz posted give it that old feel, right now its looking a little soft, otherwise real cool helmet dude!
