I took it into 3D Coat and smoothed out the cornes. And back into MayaLT for .fbx export: UnrealEngine render: I know the shadows is abit wierd, but I just imported it for testing purposes. What do you think?
I know in MayaLT, Send to Unreal advantage is that it removes the export polygon limit. But after trying both, I agree with Pior. File > Export Selection, then having a dedicated folder for all FBX exports is what I use.
You just need to look where the focus is going, Bifrost, MayaLT and the updates are all more featured in Maya. Softimage was classed as a support package to Maya in the creation suite, despite being enough of a package to stand on it's own feet.
Hi Quad - it worked fine in MayaLT last time I used it, so I suspect that it will work in regular Maya too. You might get a few refresh glitches though, with some random triangles turning black.
I have this circular UV that I think would be better laid out if it was a strip in the UV page. I cut a seam in it, how can I get it to form a straight line similar to the above UVs? Is this possible?

Working on this as a quick piece before I go back to an older piece. Concept: Daniel Comerci 3d app: MayaLT -just wanted some feedback on the grip and if the proportions are working. I have to polish and refine out the high poly but I feel like the grip is off.
MayaLT is really accessible, I used to use component editor for skin weights but they dont have that in LT.. they just have paintweight tool. Everything else is pretty much the same and the export process to Dota 2 is super easy. I recommend it!
