I always have dreams for whatever game I'm playing at the time. Or the game bleeds over into a regular dream. Like I'm at work, but I have the Skyrim interface going, or I'm redoing my living room, but everything works like Minecraft.
The polycount TF2 server was turned into the Minecraft server so we currently don't have one ourselves. That's one of the reasons I have handed it off to the CnB guys. Check my profile in steam for links to find them, or search into the server lists.
@MadnessImport that's great to hear. Linode's performance is one of the reasons we like them so much. We've also used them for minecraft and tf2 servers with good results. The improvements could also be a location related, we moved the servers from an east coast datacenter to a dallas one.
They should have minecraft pre-installed on it... at least thats what I would do if I were Microsoft... then rank in a ton of money from the secondary market of licensed goods. 10 is really looking good though. Seems like its a completely new company under this new CEO.

I'm comfortable doing my own thing, passion is the primary driver not conformity, besides which there's something to be said for stepping beyond the bounds, Minecraft and Flappy Bird are a couple of obvious examples that immediately spring too mind.
I've spent $60 on full retail games that were 1/10th the fun of this alpha build. It's extremely rare when I can be playing a game and 7hrs vaporize, feeling like 2hrs tops. Minecraft was one of the other rare games to do that for me. It'll keep getting better, too. ;D
To turn it into even epic game, make it so you can go down to surface and 'minecraft' on the planet in some way. Be able to build or fund bases/civz on planets, which you could seamless walk into your ship, around it and into the captain seat, travel out of the planet and beyond. :-D
The concepts are great, especially the engineer and cowboy, but I feel your initial model kind of loses that cool blockyness. I realize you want to avoid going to close to the minecraft aesthetic, but right now it looks like you're mostly adding detail and not just refining shapes. Maybe something like this would be more…
