The mask builder hasn't changed in the last few releases. To get rid of the default grunge, set the Grunge Intensity to 0 and also the Noisiness in the AO and Curvature settings to 0.
Trying to verify - if I just have a low poly model, with no high poly, can I still texture it easily using Substance by using masks to identify different materials?
1. Not at the moment, you can export the masks manually however by right-clicking over them and choosing "export to file". 2. Not yet, but that's coming with the IRay integration of Substance Painter.
Very good point indeed. Getting a PSD out of SD is close to impossible as the workflows are too different but SP in the end output layers, masks and groups, so it shouldn't be a big deal.
Hi there, so I have an empty layer which I added a paint effect to and drew some displacement. I forgot to turn on roughness at the time of painting and so now I have no roughness information in that area, is it possible to somehow convert the painted displacement data into a mask or something. My only thought at this…
Played with it for about 30 min so far. Here's some thoughts, coming from someone who uses Photoshop and Mari to texture: Seems pretty snappy, was painting 2k texture on a 70k model. Want higher res, 4k at least. Rendering is slooooooow, whatever method being used for PBR chugs the whole app. Painting was MUCH more…
EDIT: The solution was to enable: Help > Settings > Display only the selected material when painting =================== The entire object disappears while I'm painting on a mask. Why? http://oskarswierad.com/p/screeny/substance-disappearing.gif
Played a bit with beta, and what I really need is a phong shader (diffuse/spec/gloss/normal/reflection mask) and 4k texture resolution. PBR is nice and next gen, but not everyone uses them yet, unfortunately. I also need to figure out how to create my own particle presets for aircraft textures - like smoke stains from…
Is there a way to control the grayscale color of a brush via pen pressure? I want to work on a mask and ideally would like to have no/low pressure paint blackish and high pressure paint white like in photoshop.
howdy folks, I'm trying to use anchor points in painter, even though you can clearly see I've made an anchor point for the top layer, the option to add one in the mask micro details is greyed out?
