meanwhile here is some update. I added fire escapes: Also quick illustration of lamp shader setup: And some more rubble elements, like brick wall pieces and plywood piles. Bricks' mesh is pretty messy, lol, I was experimenting with hi- to low-poly conversions but not 100% well :P
Actually this illustrates my situation quite well, even though I still use Max and Maya from time to time. Not super crazy about the stack either, as I end up collapsing it a lot anyway, but I recognize there are some unique stuff you can do in Max because of the stack.
if there is no time for some jobs you have to use what ever is needed... we communicate that to the client... this kind of work is impossible todo with that budget we have to take shortcuts and you get lower quality... and there are a lot of clients out there they are fine with that... they only need a still for a…
Thank you ! Really glad you like the art. The surrealism influence is deliberate ( with the clocks as you point out and with size distortion or repetitious use of objects ) especially given the strong dadaist influences on the storytelling. Also, Thank you so much for introducing me to the wonderful work of Maurice…
Wow, this piece has come a really long way. I think it's really awesome how you stuck with it through all the many revisions and took a lot of great critique to heart. It all shows, and you came out with a very impressive concept illustration! Congrats, you really did that piece justice!!
I'm willing to bet Yuri can draw better than I can. And I don't think I'm the worst illustrator to be an artist. I agree that talent is difficult to quantify and that arguing about it is moot which is why I suggested OP post some 2d and 3d work he has done.
Really reaaallly refreshing to know that a teacher actually continues to push his own skillsets as well as his students, this is something we lack to an extent in our course, and seeing what you're students have done really illustrates the fact that having a teacher who "knows his shit" is invaluable. Well done!
Alloa: You are absolutely correct. The xoliul shader has the "flip green channel" box in the normal map slot checked by default. I just threw the wall up there to illustrate a point about the depth of the door. The wall looks pretty terrible, definitely not a correct finished project. Thanks for pointing that out though.
Haha awesome! I always loved the suspensor technology in the Dune universe, typically used for moving cargo and other heavy objects. It fits Baron Harkonnen perfectly and illustrates just how grotesquely overweight he is. The head anatomy doesn't read 'overly obese', if I were to fix one thing it'd be that.
Update #5 "Blade Runner Gun" Been super busy for the last month, only just managed to get around to starting my next piece. I'm working Deckard's gun from Blade Runner this time. I'm trying to go as illustrative as possible as I don't want it to just be a exact copy.
