my fav way to render my HP hard surface models is by using the shellac material wth 2 omni's and a skylight. but whenever i do it to one of my busted rock models, it looks strange. any preferred ways to show off a HP model for an organic object like busted stone? examples and tuts would be nice...
Hi! Im starting out an illustration - basically its a hunter gatherer picking berries or fruit from a large bush. Ive never really painted a bush in this context before (as in part of a main focus) and im not sure the best way to go about it. I want the main focus on the dudes hands and around the fruit hes picking - so…
Hail Polycounters! Long time lurker, first time poster here - I've hardened my skin and am ready to brave this great community's crits. :) So I use Max primarily but have just been having too much fun with Sculptris lately. I find Scultpris to be more educational for anatomy studies than max and I figured I should post the…
This looks superb! Well done! I love the details. =) What method did you use to add the text on the mesh? Looks very goood. The only tiny detail I'd suggest. Make the ground underneath look more disturbed from the chopper blades. Like it kicked around some sand as it landed. Totally optional, just a suggestion.

For the most part I am just self taught from trial and error and some basic guides to solve specific problems. I have heard of high poly to low poly baking where I assume you model a high poly version and bake the shading and such…
I love this. The execution is really strong, and the prop work and modeling are great. Overall, good job.I freaking love Lisbon and Portugal, and I’ve wandered these streets a lot, so you really captured the vibe. One thing that can elevate good work to fantastic work here is values and tonemapping. Let me visualize what I…
So on a whim I picked up Phantom Dust for Xbox (the standard $19.99 price tag helped that decision). Well wouldn't you just know it, the game rocks. It's a very well done mix of Magic: The Gathering, Virtual On, and cheesy JRPG's if you can wrap your brain around that. The constant desire to build a better 'deck' in the…
There are such huge numbers of different styles of explainer videos that you can use, and that is essential because some videos can be very useful and superior to others for certain reasons or item or administrations or for certain sorts of audience. Nevertheless, in general, while clarifying complex administrations…
So far I have been using maya quad draw and for the most part I get good low poly mesh. The problem is that is takes quite a while (like a couple days) to do a retopo for even a bust. What program is the best for retopo and what programs do you guys use?? Thanks
