Cheers, from reading up a bit it looks like they probably won't cut it if I want millions of the things on screen. I'll give em a shot but I'm not entirely hopeful. What I really want is to be able to generate a mask at runtime and then query it.
Thanks for the replies and advice..... prefabs sound like the way to go, I'm sure I'll be back with more Unity queries... The Unity community seems to be growing pretty quickly, would be good to have a Unity specific area here like there is for UDK and Cryengine.
@griffitii That sounds good to me, I payed £5 for a script for 3ds Max https://gumroad.com/discover?query=improved%20face%20weighted I have tested it a little, works on very complex meshes and is fast. Good luck with the rest of your project.
Yeah, but sometimes you want human beings not machines to help you out. For every 500 search engine queries, I think a human is entitled to one unnecessary forum post.:poly142: Unless it's on a 4th leap year in which they are entitled to 2.
Hey counters! Currently looking for work, you can see previous examples of my work over at www.csamways.com Standard rate of $30/18gbp per hour, Can work with periodic payments also. contact charlie.samways@molecube.ca for any queries Kind regards -Charlie
Hi Scott! I'm not a Maya user, so I can't assist you with this query. I suspect what you're experiencing is probably due to not setting up your material for proper display in the viewport. The Technical Talk subsection should be able to assist you with this! :)
Google says it didn't happen last year, to the search query's knowledge. https://www.google.com/search?q=Allegorithmic+Christmas+sale+2016&rlz=1C1GIWA_enUS570US570&oq=Allegorithmic+Christmas+sale+2016&aqs=chrome..69i57.9808j1j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
I realize this is a pretty old Query. But in case it might help....I noticed that you are working in orthographic View. I was going through the same problem. However a simple switch from Orthographic View to Perspective view solves the problem for me. Hope this helps.
I have a query. How many Dix do you need to ideally get a truly satisfying experience? I mean I'm guessing the more Dix, the better right? Is there any point where a person might not be able to handle any more Dix?
Yup. I didnt have xnormal installed but you should be able to copy what the log spits out and replace the path (look into the file command. Believe you can query the scene name and do some string manipulation) and append the layer name.
