Just my 2 cents (with the danger of repeating some stuff; good article btw, Chris) Think small, start small, then release. But don't make a big fuss about the initial release. It needs to make people realize how much potential your idea has, but don't create hopes you can't fulfill. Extent later on. Also think of creative…
LOL, yeah...I love that book too. But Ender's Games is my "indie company" name. In fact, I have that name registered for my online game store. :icon15: Tell me about it. I know what you mean by Bleh! At the moment, it looks like an ugly piece of garbage. Right now i was just making the basic room colors. With the floor…
Here is some more mechanics testing this one showing the collectibles that the player can interact with by either picking them up, inspecting them, or reading them. The first one is a collectible system that the player can pick up potions, bandages and a quest item. When the player picks these items up they will disappear…

I remember a year or 2 back some people here were playing with a map editor for an RPG. They were saying that it was pretty easy to use and good fun. I'm looking for something like that for my kids to play with but can't remember what game it was for. Anyone here got any ideas, or at least a better memory than me?
i would suggest making up your own generic candys,, perhaps with funny names an such, shows more creativity and avoids possible issues down the road and if you say you are using candy for to make the game seem more realistic, those 2 bars are made by different companys an would not be in the same factory :)
I think people get too attached to studio names. It's never the studio that makes the games that people love, its the people behind the studio. Those people will carry on somewhere else if they choose to do so. I understand if they decide to cash out and go do something else that isn't as volatile, the industry isn't…

I've been a lurker for ages here in Polycount, I have decided this time to show off some of my craft. Influenced by the art-style of the ill-received anime-ish spinoff of Wizardry, which is Class of Heroes (jp. Totomono/Ken to Mahou to Gakuen Mono), and seemingly resemble Level-5(Inazuma 11, Little Battler…
Hello there! We are Fireline Games - a small group of indie game developers based in Poland. Since the beginning we have been mostly creating games for game jams but now we want to move on to a bigger project. Our latest game Spheres made for Ludum Dare 32 received a lot of good comments and placed high in final results,…
