Spend the money on a tablet, while blender is fully capable, there's no cheap replacement for a tablet. (also keep in mind, experience and knowledge is transferable, so you'll be able to learn any program in the future) (also, keep at it with an iron will, be humble, and listen to what people here have to say in the future) -

Agreed ^ If it's set 20 years in the future, think of how much could change in that time. I'd suggest looking at more reference than just images of the tube, think of films like Total Recall, Blade Runner, 5th Element; all three are good examples of "20 minutes into the future" -

Just as a future recommendation, when you post all your WIPs into one thread, you're able to show your work process a lot better than in separate threads. Also has the potential to help future readers of your work. This needs better even lighting to evaluate. -

Very interesting replies! I also believe 3dsmax is still one of the best programs for 3d modeling, and I am glad that most users are positive about its future. I am also more positive about it's future than I was when I started this thread. -
Non Square Textures
Hey Guys, I'm aware of the Non-Square Transform node but I'm not a huge fan of having to plug that into a Make It Tile, its a very uncontrollable and imprecise workflow in my opinion. My first game ready art. Took a while to finish as I only knew how to use Zbrush when I started and my anatomy knowledge isn't all that great especially female anatomy. The face in particular had a lot of revisions. Every time I learned something I would apply to this model. Lots of frustrations and back and forth stuff…
